Short answer: no. The NDA age limit for girls is exactly the same as for boys: 16.5 to 19.5 years on the day the course starts.

Date of birth window for women candidates

  • NDA I 2027: 2 July 2008 to 1 July 2011.
  • NDA II 2027: 2 January 2009 to 1 January 2012.

These are the same windows that apply to men. UPSC does not give an age concession to any category, and there is no separate window for women.

Background

Women have been able to take the NDA examination since a 2021 Supreme Court order, and women candidates began joining the National Defence Academy in 2022. They sit the same written exam as men.

Other eligibility points

  • Class 12 passed or appearing, with Physics and Mathematics for Air Force and Naval Academy entries.
  • Unmarried candidates only.
  • Medical and physical standards as given in the notification. Standards for women are specified separately where they differ, so read the current notification.
